My protocol involves hacking the human body; what I call "the D.R. R.E.P. pain hacks" (corny I know, but I had to try!). These steps aren't shortcuts, they're just the best research around! They are:

  • Diagnosis

  • Diagnosis - the lost art of finding the cause is an absolute must, but seems to be glossed over in today's healthcare system. You won't get a vague diagnosis; you'll get an explanation of the most likely cause of your problem. An individualized treatment plan is the key to getting better, and it starts with an accurate diagnosis.
  • Relief - pain relief can come from stretching, myofascial release, or ice/heat and we'll explore which works best for your case. The main goal of the early healing phases is keeping the pain level tolerable enough to allow you to continue your life!
  • Re-evaluation - once the pain is improving, we need to make sure you're ready to exercise. So, we have to re-test it to see how far we've come! We use validated outcome assessment tools that many other professions use. They help us make sure we are actually making functional progress!
  • Exercise - strengthening is the most important part of recovery and prevention. We need to move well, and move often.
  • Progressive overload - used in strength training, this adds armor to your rehabbed body!

Now, before you get too excited and jump right in, here are some common mistakes people make with back pain.

  • Most patients skip the last two steps. They think I'm one of those sleazy chiropractors that tries to get them to come back for 40 visits, so they bail early. But, skipping this step leaves you right at the threshold for pain. My goal is to get you fixed up and out the door as fast as possible. 4-8 visits is my goal! Far less than the 20 or so most PT plans will take, and definitely better than 40!
  • They see the wrong doctor. It's not about chiropractor or PT, but the actual best of the best. Most medical doctors don't do well with mechanical problems; that's why we have DC,s PTs, and Orthopedic surgeons. Guess who recommends the fewest surgeries!? Additionally, guess who ends being cheaper most of the time? You guessed it! Chiropractors! And chiropractors who don't accept insurance beat them all! More time with the doc, for a little more money, means you get more bang for your buck!
  • One last mistake people with back pain make is developing a fear of movement, or avoiding activity. Don't avoid movement, but modify it. Try to continue normal life as much as possible. This is why you need my expertise! You need a guide to navigate your pain!
